This is essentially what will determine how hard the competition of the USA in the World Cup in the next Year, and it could determine prospects of the U.S. in the three years after the World Cup, as it is based. Mexico has not won the Gold Cup for 6 years and has not be beaten the United States for four people. The US's FIFA ranking is higher than in Mexico, but besides all this, Mexico receives the seed and thus facilitates the group. Just to give an example: in 06, the U.S. has not the seeds, and came with Italy, the Czechs and Ghana. Mexico has the seed and came with Portugal, Iran and Angola. It is a big difference. As expected, the United States while Mexico has not gone through. @ Ben: the only reason why Mex looked better than in the U.S., was in 06 because she was easier to draw! @ Bloosboy: it is only based on the FIFA world rankings? Other things do not factor into the equation?
