African striker to watch the FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa
I know that we are still in the qualifiers of the World Cup, but it would be good to keep track of some important African striker in the major leagues and watch her develop and the roles that they both play in their leagues and countries they play.
Let's start with the BBC African Player of the Year 2008 and the 2008 African Player of the Year Emmanuel Adebayor. This is a phenomenal player in Africa. He is a national Togo. He is strong and dominant figure, very powerful and deadly when it comes to air ball. But I have a problem with it. He needs 50 chances to put into a destination. Ok, that is an exaggeration, but its proximity. He is not as deadly on the ground. But I am with the way that it is round instead of the ball and his keeper Celebration dance (along with his name sake Arsenal Emmanuel Eboue) also appeals to me very impressed. I think he has the will to do more. His shot is not as powerful, but it can be a really big fault defenses. We are watching you Ade!
Another deadly striker Didier Drogba is in front of the goal, the striker from the Ivory Coast. OK, so the 2008-2009 season has not been his best, but certainly he is deadly in front of the gate. I think at full fitness, tear down this guy can Defenses alone and Asham defender. He is big, strong and very fast, a rare combination of a striker.
