world cup 2010 group draw
The World Cup draw in Durban is only 400 days away now! I thought it would be a good opportunity to think about which teams will be named in the are small balls to be pulled out groups for the year 2010. Here are my predictions and why I think every team should:
(UEFA section later will take place, it is the longest and hardest)
AFC – Australia, Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia
And Iran. These are the five best teams in Asia. I do not think there are many objections. Uzbekistan or Bahrain will probably be in the playoff – the place, but they are likely to be overwhelmed by Saudi Arabia / Iran , Korea Republic. Two of the three teams qualify automatically, which is another playoff and smashed New Zealand.
CAF – Cameroon, Nigeria, Egypt, Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire
The final round of the CAF has taken shape. Five groups of four, with the top qualifying teams in each group. Egypt and Ivory Coast there should be no excuses not to qualify, they are relatively easy groups. Cameroon and Nigeria have difficult group with Cameroon to fight with Morocco and Togo, while Nigerians have the most recent World Cup regulars face Tunisia. Ghana have to deal with the threat of Mali, but I think they have too much quality.
CONCACAF – Mexico, USA and Costa Rica. It is quite a gap between these three countries and the rest of CONCACAF, and was obviously in the last ten years. You will get through easily, but the fourth placed team will lose the playoff, the South American team is too strong.
CONMEBOL – Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay &
Chile. The first three are the "usual suspects" and will be there anyway. Uruguay looks good and will probably also there this time, after the disappointment This is not Germany 2006. Ecuador, which usually have World Cup regulars have had a slower start than usual. Their form has been terrible, in contrast to Chile, whose form has been removed is sound, so I have dumped them from Ecuador. Who will be the fifth to beat the CONCACAF qualifiers in the play-off.
The UEFA qualifiers will be examined in another article in the future, because it is too early to make a reasonable prediction. Overall, it appears that most of the teams, that it is in 2010, pretty much the same, which they fought in Germany 2 years ago. However, previous World Cups have shown that it is always first timers. It should therefore To expect surprises when incorporated most of the qualifying matches in 2009.
