What should I do or see in S.A. during world cup?

i’m visiting south africa in 2010 for world cup. There will be a total of four of us, all females ranging in ages of 19-24. We definitely want to check out the tourist attractions but what do the locals do for fun? What would you recommend for us to check out in order to maximize our experience in cape town? We are very social and love to have fun, party, drink and be adventurous. Nothing is off limits! we will be there for about 22 days and plan to visit Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth mangaung, nelspruit, Johannesburg, Rustenburg, and the other world cup stops.

Hi,

There is plenty to do in South Africa, and as for crime, just be fairly vigilant, and you will be fine…

Some of the more popular activities in Cape Town include:

* Table mountain, access by walking, or cable car
* Robben Island Tour, Ferries depart daily from Waterfront
* Boulders penguin colony, perfect for a relaxed family outing
* Cape Point, the tip of Africa, where the two oceans meet
* Wine Tasting, at one of the many world renowned wine farms
* Cape Town Aquarium, at the V&A waterfront
* The World of Birds, in Hout Bay, perfect for a family outing
* Ratanga Junction, Africa’s largest theme park
* Game Safari & big game viewing
* Township tours, an eye opening insight into local South African culture

There are also plenty of good bars & nightlife in and around the city. Cape Town is a lot of fun, but Johannesburg & Durban also have their fair share of party spots.

In Cape Town, Camps Bay beach is a favourite amongst locals & visitors alike. With white sandy beaches, and hotels, bars, restaurants and beautiful people galore, you really can’t go wrong…
