World Cup 2010 – last minute injuries kept many players from South Africa 2010

The last test matches dispute between football teams do not seem be friendly, after all. The injury list is getting bigger and bigger. As of press time World Cup 2010 has already missed a few key players, while other very forward to a quick recovery before the tournament opener.

For starters, Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba suffered a fracture in his arm in his teams 2-0 victory over Japan on 4 June. A Japanese player's knee hit the Chelsea players in his elbow, fracturing two bones.

On the same Day, England's captain, and, like Drogba, another key player in their team, Rio Ferdinand suffered a ligament injury in his knee during training on Friday. This has some bad news for a team that already was missing striker David Beckham, who tore his Achilles tendon gave last March.

Italy also reported at the last minute on their injuries midfielder Andrea Pirlo, of a calf muscle during his team's two-1defeat injured against Mexico. There are no official standing on his condition, and it seems that he might miss the tournament as well.

The Netherlands is also reporting a violation of their striker Arjen Robben. He came in one substitution during the Netherland's 6-1 victory over Hungary in Amsterdam. Robben scored two goals, before he made an unnatural movement in the pitch and had to be carried by paramedics. It was reported that he suffered a hamstring injury. There is still a chance that he might be a full recovery before the tournament kicks make, or at least before the end of the group round-robin first stage.

Nigeria midfielder John Obi Mikel was officially apart of the national team not yet determined when his knee injury has to heal. He will be replaced by Ideye Brown. But that's not the end of the list injuries. German team captain Michael Ballack also suffered a ankle injury in May. He will miss the World Cup action. In addition to Beckham are the two most notorious players still missing the most important in international football Football.

Mexico has reported to us Guillermo Franco. Chile striker Humberto Suazo injuries related situation is yet to be confirmed, so its uncertain whether he will play or not. Germany goalkeeper Rene Adler has also lost midfielder Simon Rolfes and various injuries.

And of course there is Michael Essien, Ghana national soccer team striker, who could not finish even his recovery. He had suffered from an injury in his right knee since 15 January. Despite intensive therapy and care, has the striker will miss the first World Cup tournament played in the African continent.
